Driving Efficiency Across the Care Pathway at Winship Cancer Institute

This month, we are excited to introduce Tosin Kayode, the Director of Medical Dosimetry at Winship Cancer Institute. Tosin shares that the integration of Radformation’s automation tools has transformed daily workflows, improving efficiency, accuracy, and patient care. We had the opportunity to speak with Tosin about their experience using AutoContour, EZFluence, ClearCheck, and ClearCalc.

Tosin and his team have been leveraging Radformation’s innovative software solutions to enhance workflow efficiency and improve patient care since 2019. Their adoption of EZFluence and ClearCheck laid the foundation for a more streamlined planning process, with ClearCalc (2020) and AutoContour (2021) seamlessly integrating into their workflow as soon as they became available.

The decision to adopt Radformation’s suite of tools was primarily driven by their user-friendly interface and seamless integration with their  treatment planning system (Eclipse) and Record and Verify system (ARIA). Tosin says “These tools have significantly improved efficiency across our imaging, dosimetry, physics, and physician teams. Additionally, the ability to customize reports to match our clinical and workflow needs has been a major advantage.”

Over the years, Tosin has witnessed significant advancements in Radformation’s software, particularly in AutoContour and EZFluence. “These include an expanded library of anatomical structures, enhanced accuracy in the auto-contouring workspace, and the incorporation of additional treatment techniques in EZFluence, further refining our planning processes.”

Additionally, they have streamlined the treatment plan reporting process, enabling us to focus more on critical aspects of patient care.”

When asked about his favourite feature Tosin clearly loves AutoContour and EZFluence saying “Several features stand out across Radformation’s suite of tools. The brachial plexus contouring in AutoContour has been particularly valuable for ensuring accurate and efficient delineation. In EZFluence, the eComp planning functionality has significantly streamlined our planning process. Additionally, the ability to identify an optimal isocenter to avoid collisions has greatly enhanced treatment plan feasibility and execution.”

Outside the clinic, Tosin is a devoted husband and father of two wonderful daughters. He enjoys traveling and spending quality time with his family. A talented musician, he serves as the musical director at his church and is an accomplished keyboard player. In his free time, he also enjoys a game of ping pong and passionately follows soccer—proudly declaring Chelsea as the best Premier League team!
