When Ashley steps away from the clinic’s fast-moving workflows, she shifts into a very different gear, one filled with family, engines, and the great outdoors. She cherishes time spent outside with her two boys, ages three and fifteen, whether they’re camping, exploring on dirt bikes and side-by-sides, or heading out to a dirt track race. Nights around the campfire, weekends at the racetrack, and spontaneous adventures are all part of the Cooper family rhythm. “It’s all about making memories and enjoying quality time,” she says. “There’s nothing like unplugging and being in nature together.”
Few people know that Ashley is also a trained American Sign Language interpreter. She originally planned to pursue a career as a medical or legal interpreter for the Deaf. But after working in her first radiation oncology clinic, she fell in love with the field and never turned back, though she still maintains her degrees and licenses with pride. Her ideal getaway is simple and restorative. A warm beach, mountains at her back, ocean at her feet. And when it comes to comfort food? Make it pasta, extra spicy, hold the mushrooms.
